North Mitrovica political art 1: I think "Siptarska je juga pregolema" translates as "Albania is the southern monster"; this was some of the first graffiti that I saw in the Serb enclave of north Mitrovica.

I thought I'd done quite well to translate the graffiti using a couple of weeks' knowledge of Teach Yourself Serbian and a dictionary, but a Serb friend has kindly informed me that I was 'so wrong'.

'Siptarska je tuga pregolema' was a sarcastic sneer that '[Kosovo] Albanians' sorrow is really big'.
