North Mitrovica political art 5: in the Serb enclave, but facing the bridge to the overhwlemingly Albanian district of south Mitrovice and the predominantly French KFOR soldiers who patrol here, the graffiti reads, "ici est de Front Thessalonique", though I believe it should read, "ici est le Front Thessalonique" - "here is the Thessaloniki Front".
The graffiti draws a parallel between the line dividing the communities in Mitrovice/Mitrovica and the Thessaloniki Front, which was a line in the First World War, during which the Entente Powers, including Serbia and France, occupied Albania.
